... best meals we have ever eaten and so much Canadian hospitality I don’t think I stopped smiling the entire meal. We arrived at 8pm for our reservation (restaurant reservations at all of their hotel restaurants book up fast and so we took what we could get. We started the day off right with a delicious breakfast from
a café by Lake Louise that we noticed was pretty crowded. We got our coffee to
go and started the drive up the Icefields Highway into Jasper National Park.

On to Lake Louse, "the Jewel of the Rockies", a beautiful blue-green lake set against the backdrop of Victoria Glacier. The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise - what a hotel!! Lake Louise village is a few klms from this year-round luxury mountain resort which offers guided mountain tours, world-class skiing in the winter, scenic hiking and canoe activities in the summer.

... Springs Hotel. Linda's work brought us here. We had a very relaxing evening at the Hot Springs. We needed to just relax in the warm mineral water. After that we drove around and that's when we saw our first Grizzly. We didn't get a photo, as he was too quick when he walked through the trees and willows. The clouds started to lift a bit so we continued our drive. It was another beautiful evening.

Back on the bus and as we nearing Banff smoke plumes were coming out of the pine forests but this was just preventative burning - made good photos!
