We arrived at 8pm for our reservation (restaurant reservations at all of their hotel restaurants book up fast and so we took what we could get. I also wanted post sunset since we didn’t want to miss that over the lake) Turns out the restaurant has a lovely giant window view of the lake but it was dark by the time we arrived. ...

... Springs Hotel. Linda's work brought us here. We had a very relaxing evening at the Hot Springs. We needed to just relax in the warm mineral water. After that we drove around and that's when we saw our first Grizzly. We didn't get a photo, as he was too quick when he walked through the trees and willows. The clouds started to lift a bit so we continued our drive. It was another beautiful evening.

Back on the bus and as we nearing Banff smoke plumes were coming out of the pine forests but this was just preventative burning - made good photos!
I had booked into a lodge and the others were staying at a backpackers hostel but I joined them there for T, chatted with the French and Singapore girls and a young German lad. Great ...
