... then drove into the town centre and went for a walk. There was a Marina with hundreds of boats/yachts. At then end of town there was a canal with a lock and a huge yacht was coming back into the marina. It was great to see the lock open and flood the canal to bring the level up three metres then the bridge was raised and the yacht passed through, Drove back to Brugge and ended up having burgers for dinner as nothing seemed to be open Sunday ...
Everyone looked horrible this morning haha. I didn't feel too bad since I came back a bit early but getting on the bus at 7am was a mission for all. We had a huge day of travelling ahead doing 4 countries and finishing in London that night. Our first stop was in bruge in Belgium. This is where we stopped for lunch and it was a cool little city. Apparently this is where French fries where actually first created, not sure if that's completely true ...
... Bruges. In Burg Square we saw ruins that are still located below ground, but can be accessed by a staircase in the Crowne Plaza Hotel. From there we headed for the first store that sold waffles. Waffles, chocolate, and whipped cream. Um! Um! Um! We next stopped at a cafe for additional refreshments. For sure lots of gym time will be needed after we return home. ... beers at a cool pub called the Delirium Café right next to the Jeannekin Pis. With 250 beers on offer, it was hard to choose something and they had 3 levels split up into different specialities such as micro brews, a vodka bar and ‘normal’ beer. Some of the beers had up to 10% alcohol and the walls were covered with old beer signs and trays. It was a cool atmosphere although the beers were a little expensive.

... in the river; I sat at the back and couldn't hear the guide over the engine, but it was such a sunny day I didn't really mind. At any rate, the highlight for me were the ducklings paddling around with mom, and a really pretty bird (no idea what it was) sitting on a nest under a willow tree.
