... a lot of discussion we ended up buying a large tapestry and having it sent home! We needed a cold drink so we returned to our delightful 17th hotel and sat in the garden. Oh and by the way, I am in a town famous for chocolate and I don't eat any except on the waffles! Weird.

She didn't know we were coming so we were hoping that she was going to answer the door. We definitely scared her but she was more than welcoming to us. ... Paris by train. So we said our goodbyes and made our way to the appropriate platforms. As we were walking, we were interrupted by a police lock down of a floor that we had to be on as there was a mysterious abandoned suit case. Secured with caution tape, security cards and very much armed soldiers were directing people opposite of the scene which delayed us considerably. (We were to later discover that a lady had simply forgotten it and claimed it fifteen minutes later.)

We sat down and enjoyed a beer in one of the medieval squares, and ended our day trip by taking a big mess of frites down to a canal and having a frites picnic.
