... dice, that usually means some wind also. The wind picked up around dinner slightly off our port aft quarter ( back left in English) and steadily built up to around 15-18 knots, plus an added bonus of swinging round on to our beam which is our best sailing angle - we were up to 7/8 knots in no time and even 9.5 at one point through a band of cloud that we're giving us gusts in excess of 20 knots - we covered the last 40 miles in just 5 ...

    Last Day in Camaret

Tomorrow we leave to cross Biscay, we have opted to go to Ria de Viveiro due to a big swell around La Coruna. So after a great nights sleep on our new mooring we were up early preparing for tomorrow which will be the biggest voyage of our adventure so far. The very name 'Biscay' conjures up images of heavy seas, rough weather and fills you with dread, we have waited for the right weather window, some people don't have this privilege and get caught ...

We tied her off, then set about our chores for the day, which consisted of washing down the boat, tidying the lazarette in the cockpit, thoroughly cleaning and decluttering it. We then filled the fuel tank with 80 litres of fuel out of the spare Jerry cans ( We carry 8 x 10 litres, 20 litres ...

It was a horrible night on this mooring so we need to move soon as possible, we hardly slept and I wish we had never even moved to be honest. We pay a 50% supplement for being a catamaran but on this mooring I think they should be paying us - if you ever visit Camaret in a yacht, trust me don't moor on the outer breakwater it is horrendous. Tracey went to the hairdressers this morning until lunch time so ...

    Full Day Foraging

First thing this morning we had to move the boat to another mooring on the outside quay due to a rally of yachties arriving - I don't like motoring in breezy weather, the boat is very difficult to steer but with the help of a couple of people we managed to get her alongside without any drama, but the motion is worse than being at sea - so no sleep tonight I'm guessing. The rest of the day we spent foraging in the bay, we found razor clams, cockles, mussels, lob worms and peeler crabs. ...
