Houston airports relatively new " shuttle tram train " gets you efficiently between gates that go on for ever. No 1.5 mile jaunts through the airport from two years ago . Yesterday, I tried to fix my stay at a guest ranch in the Texas Hill Country. However, the ranch of my choice is closed for a week due to a family wedding. I have checked for alternatives, but I either do not like the ranch or it is way too expensive. Therefore, I will jump on a horse in New Mexico or Arizona. Naturewise I will like those states better anyways.
So, this forenoon I will hop in a bus to San Antonio. Jan 29th in the evening, I will fly to El Paso.
Oh my goodness! What a night! 8 girls in 1 room coming and going at any time of the night. Making loud noises, putting the light on, snorring crazy, clogging the toilet, jumping around in the upper bunk, very limited respect. Under these circumstances I had my difficulties catching sleep. Am I getting too old for a dorm?

... the airport hotel. Other than no bathroom door (?!) the hotel was awesome. Not having to wait outside in the balmy January weather and snow and cold at 3am was basically the best thing ever.
