... the gorge up the gorge” debacle followed by kilometres of what, bog? on top of a mountain?!! where the hell were we?!! Also, damn the reservoir where, having run out of water, Ryan requested that I wade in and try and get some water for boiling. Cold! Muddy! Undrinkable! Squidgy!
Crowden, England, United Kingdom ryanandnatasha... back for me while I got something out of my pack, he didn’t, and the sheep almost got me.
See that Campsite?
After almost finishing the part of the Pennine that I call “The Ball Breaker” Ryan points down the mountain to a little campsite in the distance. It was far away but hope sprang back into my heart until he said, “See that campsite? Our campsite is only 2km from there.” YEARGH!!!
... raining still!
It has been a bit of a blur today, as well as the Royal Marsden we have been to Addenbrookes in Cambridge, THe Queen Elizabeth in Birmingham and now I am sitting in a cosy front room in Sheffield with a real fire!
I am excited about tomorrow as we will be going back to my home town of Newcastle. Yippee!!
I have taken a few pictures of the day.
... the CHANGE. I don't particularly like change, but I like to take myself out of my comfort zone sometimes and see what I can handle. Keep challenging myself.
Keeping this short, otherwise it will get VERY boring. More time for fun stories and escapades then! xox

WOW what a week! No sooner had we unpacked our bags and repacked our belongings into storage we were packing again to start our adventure! We had only a very short time to catch up with family before we were saying our goodbyes again. Although we never thought we'd be ready our bags are finally packed and were on the train down to London Kings Cross. We are very tired so hope to get some sleep on the overnight flight to Nairobi.
Huddersfield, England, United Kingdom longwayaroundWe woke up at 6:15am to get ready to meet our tour to Stonehenge and Bath at Kings Cross at 7:55am. We barely made it. We had to run for our tour bus! I hadn't even eaten breakfast yet. Anyways, we made our way around London picking up people along the way and then we finally departed towards Stonehenge, after stopping quickly to pick up some snacks for my grumbling stomach. We got to Stonehenge at 11:30am and it was amazing. Even though they are just a circle of stones to ...
Wiltshire, England, United Kingdom hammerheart... very very settled. I have always had this desire to emigrate at some point in my life yet I now find myself feeling like there is no place like home. England has it faults, the climate being the biggest bug bear for me, but there are also countless things that no other country has. You really have to take yourself away for a long period of time to appreciate this. I know many people will disagree with this sentiment but this is how both Nic and I feel. Without ...
Rotherham, England, United Kingdom marshallmatters... there. After walking through the Cannon Hall Gardens, I went into the Hall itself and made an appointment with the assistant archivist, Vicki Turner, on Monday the 20th. While I was waiting I looked about the Museum a bit (photography and video prohibited). I noted that the museum is home to a collection of art including ceramics, glass, furniture and paintings dating from the 17th to the 20th Century, displayed in the Hall's Georgian and Victorian rooms. The Hall is also home ...
Cawthorne by Barnsley, Yorkshire, United Kingdom lroff... skipping from our CDs to a radio station for a few minutes every half hour of its own accord, presumably in an attempt to pick up the news or traffic updates but only ever succeeding in giving us a twice hourly dose of the 20th anniversary re-release of a new Band Aid generation singing Feed the World, became a huge source of discontent.
Things didn’t improve in Leeds either, where Ali wanted to quickly grab a gift at ...
