... farming town of Baernzell. Sampled the local schnapps (called Bayernwurz), and enjoyed the local rye bread fresh from the 300 year old brick oven. After indulging in local specialities, we took a horse drawn carriage ride through the beautiful farmland, which was very peaceful.
Our next stop was the town of Zweisel, only 10,000 people, but very famous for its Bavarian glass. Hand made, hand colored and hand carved, very ...

The only downside I can see is their smoking habits, everyone smokes! There are cigarette vending machines in hotels, in the streets and even the side of the road, a pack of twenty costs ...

50 kms AM - It was a pity we didn't have an extra day in Regensburg as it is a wonderful old city. Left the city over the Steinerne Brücke, the oldest working stone bridge in Germany, it was constructed in the 1100's. Our first stop was at Walhalla, in the town of Donaustauf, it is an imitation of the Pantheon Temple on the Acropolis in Greece. Built in 1842 by King Ludwig 1 of Bavaria it contains 127 marble ...
