See previous entry. Train departed Narvik 1525 arrived Lulea 2240. Spoke to two Dutch girls at train station in Narvik. Ran into them several times along the way -- on the train, in Lulea, Haparanda, Tornio. By far the most unfriendly travelers I ve run into yet. Never a nod of recognition. Almost hostility. Don t know why. Curious. Never anything like it. Almost all others I ve met at least civil, most pleasant and frindly communicative.

... the earth became. We passed the Arctic Circle and kept on going. Rocks turned to hills and mountains and snow covered peaks. After about 6 hours we reached the town of Riksgransen, Sweden and found our reserved cabins looking down over an iced lake and frigid valley. ... the top 20 through qualifying to the final like normal only the top 8 made it through, unfortunately this mean taking far bigger risks than what would normally be a good qualifying run and 13th place didn't quite get her there. Combine a great week of snowboarding and skiing with a snowkiting session on the frozen lake and a massive end of event party and it couldn't have been much better!!!

... and the best of a hostel. We had our own room with a shower and cable TV. We had breakfast included. We could do laundry for free and use the hostel kitchen to cook. They even had an internet computer for free use. The big thing we did was buy a fishing pole. We didn't know anything and went into a sporting good shop. The salesman showed us what to buy and then gave us a discount. I'm not sure why he gave us the discount and ...
