... sign we found at one junction. We never saw a monkey or another hiker after the teahouse. Since beginning the initial descent, the trail was fairly steep in areas and stairs had replaced some sections of the highway. Between the terrain and the additional weight on my back, my knees and back were starting to feel the strain. Although the hike was shorter than I anticipated, my body was content when the trail hit the main road and we quickly discovered we’d ...

... OMG craziness...the pedestrian crossing is famous for the number of people who cross each time. It is known as the Shibyu Scramble. It is a spectacle with lots of photographers trying to catch that special shot of the action. The whole place is neon, techno, noise, consumerism. And the Japanese have gone mad for Halloween, as it gives them an excuse to dress up! It is a city in itself although part of the wider Toyko City.

... trip is up. Once breakfast was done we packed up what was left in our room and headed to the subway. We needed to catch a train a bit further away so it was a bit more of a walk through Ginza going against the flow of businessmen in suits heading to work. We managed to get on the right train and headed to Shinagawa station which is one of two bullet train stations in Tokyo. The bullet train ride was only about 25 minutes before we got to the nearest station to Hakone ...
