    So April 1st was actually Gaper Day, not Gaybor day... The event started decades ago as a way to show off old ski gear on April Fools' Day and since then has evolved into an all day party where locals dress in clothing poking fun at 'gapers' or tourists. Ahh, so that's what it was.
