8 Breathtaker Road Mt Buller, Victoria, Australia
... bad snow conditions, not a huge area to play in but enough to spend 2 days messing around, lots of fun terrain parks and jumps. Mens downhill was the best run! Bit slushy moguls by the end of day 2 and freezing cold wind but fun times had! Friday saw us heading back down to Melbourne to St kilda again for a weekend of Kite surfing!!
Mt Buller, Victoria, Australia tamsinday... parts of the mountain that I hadn't been to the last time we were here. There was also nobody about so we nearly had the slopes to ourselves, good job cause Shaun can't board for ****! Brian had just headed off the day before as well so the possy was down to a meesly two again and it was just me and Shaun. Brian was away back home for his brother's wedding.
Mt Buller, Victoria, Australia hugh_mc_manus... rather than in the buff (too damn cold for that!) but after my recent Perth 'kit-off' experiences, it seemed an appropriate title... and if 'Sun' journos can be that tacky then so can I!) Notes from a Novice Monday: weather: wind chill: -25; wind gusts: up to 54kmph (yes, even windier than Cliffoney!); visibility: about 2 cm. falls: too numerous to tally...; sore spots: everywhere ...
Fall's Creek, Victoria, Australia fishtails04Our weekend up in Mansfield/Mount Buller was a success. It's a great place and our new friend Fiona was a lovely hostess. Mansfield is 280 km north east of Melbourne (three hours by bus) and is a great little country town. It's full of ski bums, grape pickers, horse trainers, tobacco farmers and cowboys. It has a nice feel to it. Fiona has a little dog called Pepe, he is a chiuauhua mixed with a Jack Russell. He is ...
Mansfield, Victoria, Australia jen75A great few days off over the Easter weekend. Tim invited a group upto Mt Buller to stay at his clubs ski lodge. Travelled up with Jules, Carol and Vlad. Picked up Jules who had gotten very drunk the night before and was in a very bad way. Had to stop for a number of stops on the way, much amusement had at Jules expense, stopped for lunch at a pub and bumped into Dom, Dan, Sandy & ...
Mt Buller, Australia david_acramanWe flew up to Cairns and off to Daintree villiage in the wet tropics world heritage area. We had three cars and 10 people, all from the wedding. We stayed in Diantree valley haven, and the best thing about this place was the insects and birds. The butterflys and moths are incredible, and we saw myriads. We saw the largest moth in the world, the hercules moth, and some wonderful birds called rainbow bee ...
Daintree villiage, Australia botato11... From Canberra we headed down to Beechworth. Now, most people likely have not heard of this jem of a town but we headed there as another gapper from Camp Stephens lives there, Peter O'Toole. Peter's father owns one of Australia's most famous bakeries, The Beechworth Bakery (it has 6 locations!). Tom O'Toole (Peter's father) has become something of a legend at Stephens. He is also a insprirational speaker and has books, cookbooks, cd's and dvd's to his ...
Beechworth, Australia lindseyj... boardwalk thatreally makes it like a pleasant walk in the park. We managed to get to the top with little difficulty and wanted to stick around to enjoy the viwe. Unfortunately, during the course of the day, the smoke from the forest fires (very far away and not dangerous Mom) had built up substantialy all around the mountains and the views ver foggy and cloudy. Very unfortunate because it had shaped up as a beautiful day. We did rest on top of ...
Mt Kosciuszko, Australia mrewkowski... s. But it is not nearly as humid as it is in Toronto, and the mid twenties evening temperature feels very comfortable. We should be in Sydney in 3-4 days to write more. Przez nastepne 3-4 dni nie bedziemy sie odzywali, wiec sie nie martwcie. Dzisiaj ruszamy na polnoc Australii i dopiero odezwiemy sie jak dojedziemy do Sydney.
Mt. Kosciuszko, Australia mrewkowskiFeeling like a complete pro after 1 ½ days exeprience, I, along with T, Hollie and Dan headed to Mt Buller for another day of skiing/boarding. Like I said before, its our closest Mountain from Melbourne, only 3 hours drive, so we woke up at 4am and caught a bus to get there. Its really weird, falling asleep on a bus and waking up 3 hours later in a winter wonderland! Unfortunately the winter wonderland was ...
