Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia unseremaedchen... food shopping, got all my stuff, went to the cashier and realising a had no cash, asked to pay by card. The dappy cow firstly asked me for my pin.. obviously thought that was weird so refused and put it in myself, but then she made a mistake on the eftpos machine and the printer didnt give me a reciept, so she refused to give me my shopping. Quite ****** off i stormed out, collected myself and walzed in again to try and explain to her my problem with what ...
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia kat_travelsWe arrived in Surfers Paradise in the rain, luckily after we had settled in our hostel the sun appeared (even if just for an hour!) so we headed in to the centre to have a look around. It had good shops (we could've spent a fortune on surf wear) and a huge amusement arcade but not a lot else. In the afternoon the heavens opened again so we stopped in a bar for a drink then headed back to the hostel to cook some food and then find ...
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia jz2009... where the where free of duty and that was also amazing to see how keen and playful these dolphins really are. Some of the dolphins come up to the fence and started interacting with us, making sounds, jumped and swam around. Seaworld has of course also attractions like roller coasters end such, Oona and me went on the most extreems ones, I guess the cork screw is the best one. The strange part will all parks and malls i Austalia is that they close at 5 ot ...
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia pesu... and then dad and I headed down to Coles to buy some food which is just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. When we returned back to the apartment, dad, Shawna, Kodi (our friends saying above us) and myself headed down to the beach where dad and I had fun boogie boarding in the waves. We stayed at the pool for about 30 minutes before we headed back to the pool to de-sand. While we were swimming, Nikita came down to tell us a funny story. Mum was ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia bethfisher... to get our bearings , but haven't made up our minds what days we will go to the track yet! It is a mind boggling sort of place, how people live in all those high rise buildings with no empty space, not even a yard amazes me, I get claustrophobic just driving between them, must have been in the bush too long. Called into Swagman on our way past and got shown thru the new 33ft twin slide. It is magnificent, but at ...
Helensvale, Australia jimandelle... the hostel came on to me that night. I kinda refused her :-). Wouter an I walked home and I told him that I was funny. :-) The next day was ANZAC day, (Wednesday the 25th of April), - Australian War Memorial, most of the shops were closed that day and there was a parade in town. I went to the beach and missed the parade. I watched the movie kiss kiss bang bang that night with Wouter. On Thursday I lazed around all day ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia ger1... Meaning we get to house sit for them - and dog sit! The plan is to go down into town tomorrow and try to start looking for a job. And then we have plans to meet Joanne's cousin Chantelle on monday at lunch. I'm excited to meet her because we're spending Christmas with her...And in the new year we're hoping to move in with a friend that Seb made while he was here. (Tim) That's about all I know so far, but I'll try and put some more pictures up for you now. LOVE
Brisbane, Australia jentoth... the downtown. It has some pretty interesting, old buildings and museums, as well as parks and gardens, and the Brisbane river. Queensland itself is interesting, and I suppose Brisbane opitimises that. Initially it was part of New South Wales, but then split. It's biggest crop is sugarcane, which is why Bundaburg rum exists, I suppose. Long ago, Queensland used to 'hire' pacific islanders to work the cane fields. When certain ...
