Having missed the whole of easter in transit I finally made it to Australia to surprise mother & spend some time relaxing. But just after I got back I fell ill. Couldn't be worse timing. I had organised to go up to Caloundra & spend a few days relaxing in the sunshine with my friend Kiara. I had spent the night before leaving with my head in a bowl but was determined to enjoy some time on the coast.
Kiara took to the wheel of the Tiida & we headed for our hotel. I spent the...

Me and Jon had both been looking forward to Australia Zoo (home of Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter) and it didn't disappoint.

We were pleased we had found a 2 for 1 voucher on the back of a cereal packet so our day started on a high! Our first stop round the zoo was the aligator and crocodile section... all of the crocs are ones Steve caught from the wild after they were reported as being trouble.

Next up was the ...

Caloundra, Queensland, Australia threeamigos... ago and set up a butchery. We met Sean's Dad and he sorted us out with some quality meat, 'Dublin' sausages, Steaks and something we haven't had in a long time, white pudding! He also stocks a lot of Irish snacks and the likes so we got some tayto crisps, Club Rock Shandy etc. I know we've only been away around 6 months but our level of excitement was off the scale!

Shortly we were back on the road and heading North away from ...
Caloundra, Queensland, Australia alandrach... fed. So cute! Next I went to go and try to feed elephants but the queue was huge so I went to the Crocoseum, via the merchandise shop, to get a good seat for the Wildlife Warriors show! The shop was huge, there was so much stuff I could have bought, but didnt! Did buy myself a badge which had 'Crikey' on it with a picture of Steve. Before the main show we were "treated" to a performance by Bindi and the Crocmen! It was Easter so Bindi is off ...
Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia wollifer... the 75 mile road.it was so wierd, there were soft sand areas where you just got stuch, sand hills which you went over and couldnt see the other side so you went flying and went through water crevasses that had eroded the sand so you just went down aditch. it was so much fun. the lakes were pituresque. the sand being white and water so clear!! that night we got to the base camp an hour late so got told off and then had a bbq and the 40 of us drank till the early hours of the morning on ...
Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia jennyreid... a quick look to see what was there. Michelle found out they had dolphin feeding so wanted to check that out. Some how, judging on the weather, i think it would be cancelled tonight. Which it was. We made our way back to the car because it started thundering, the storm was coming over quite quickly. We were lucky because we had some fantastic weather the day before and at the start of the day, and we only had to wait an hour or so for the Ferry back to Brisbane! :) x
Moreton Island, Queensland, Australia thai_ler... There are parks all along the beach in the shade which is great. The men enjoyed the rugby or football as they call it while the girls had a bottle of wine and a gossip :) The morning was special as it was Kath's birthday so we all went to a local cafe for breakfast which was really nice. On the way home we stopped at Kawana waters beach - it was a real wow beach, quite beautiful and ...
Caloundra, Queensland, Australia manicmaiden2000... 4 Wheeled the island, played board games, drank, ate and watched movies. The last day was the best. We were driving back to Jano's place on the beach when we looked over and there were 2 dolphins swimming along the beach. We stopped the car jumped out and ran in the water. The dolphins were just swimming along and well we just swam next to them. We actually found 3 dead fish in real shallow water and we held the fish and these live dolphin just came right ...
Moreton Island, Queensland, Australia carrera2uWhat a fun city. Caroline arrived on Thursday night and we set out to explore the various restaurants, clubs, and sights that Brisbane had to offer. That night we went into Chinatown for dinner and from there to Fortitude Valley, which has some of what Lonely Planet says is the best clubs in Australia. Found a few and weren't too impressed, and didn't get a chance to find the ones they recommend. Spent the weekend ...
