Looking around it seems that we are yet again going to navigate our way through a gift shop. The kitschy key chains with blinking names (but never my name?) are on display, right next to palm tree mugs and picture frames shaped like sunglasses. T-shirts line the walls and sweatshirts are folded in two foot tall stacks just waiting to be dug through to find the right size and color to scream that you were “here!”

A first occurred for us at Little River Bridge, a mile before our destination. We were the solitary boat and were about 10 minutes past the bridge's normal hourly opening. Our start this rnorning found us aground in the mouth of Jeremy Creek after leaving Leland Oil dock in McClellansville, SC. While this wasn't on our plan it did provide the opportunity to eat a nice breakfast, coming unstuck from the oatmeal-like bottom just as we finished the last of our coffee. ... buffet breakfast all for 55$! What!!! We had a nice clean ocean view room. Chris was getting a cold so it was probably a good plan for as to get the hotel because we pretty much spent the entire afternoon taking naps and watching football and playing videogames. We brought food from our van into the room and had a picnic of sorts. It was nice just spreading out and relaxing. Chris felt much better after getting some good sleep and I enjoyed the warmth. ... Bridge that marks the southernmost end of this boring waterway. An hour prior to the bridge the rain started and conditions at the helm rapidly became miserable. Rather than continue in the rain we decided to call it a short day and anchor behind the small island in the loop. Dry and with Mr. Heater going we read and napped until dinner.
