... so about 10pm we walked out on the lake to get away from the lights of the hotel...Sean was a few steps in front when he suddenly stopped and backtracked as his foot had almost gone through the ice ...then did say the lake may not be quite frozen over but it seemed ok to rank amateurs like us! Having picked a safer route around the edge we found a dark spot....but to no avail...the lights were not on for us this ...
Today had another busy day with a range of taster activities to do...the day was milder than yesterday , it was only -10 which was noticably warmer than yesterday...the ends of your fingers did not burn with pain today!

... 10km of track....we practiced on the beginner area which is also a biathlon training centre.....before taking on a forest loop of 3km....after you get the hang of being on skis without your heel fixed on the the ski it is great fun, but the uphills are a bit less fun!...Josh got the hang of it really well too and was the only little person to do the forest trail with us....he was absolutely stuffed at the end of it though.

Today is Christmas Eve here and is the main day for the Finnish where they have their festivities and give presents.
