We woke up super early yet again, lounged by the pool and took a drive out to the Salton Sea.

We stopped on our way at Shields Date Garden to sample a date shake. It was incredibly savory, and definitely one of the more interesting things I've ever tried. There was a movie theater set up and heavily advertised showing "The Romance and Sex Life of the Date" which made us giggle beyond control.

Today we left with Star to go to John and Bertha's desert home, about one and half hours north of El Centro at Desert Sands along the Salton Sea.
