... with books for others to pick up and enjoy. Janice also talked a bit about the colleges we were passing and the kids wore out the camera with lots of photos of the amazing architecture. (I just downloaded 920 to the laptop for one day ! Don't worry, I won't share them all.)

The convention was then officially ended with a flash mob. Nearly 200 of us standing around a central square in Oxford and at a given time we all fell silent, pulled out a book and pretended to ...

Oxford

... in the movies. All of the cast and crew had to sign the same agreements as the Oxford readers and staff, that they will not remove any of the books from their shelves and they would never enter the library with an open flame. So we dropped off our bags and set off ...

Emma came back, and after croquet was over it was time for her to go. So more hugs and goodbyes. I felt really close to Emma and Tom this year, so I knew it would be hard saying goodbye to her. But hopefully she will be back next year, and we always have Hamlet to look forward to. Tom walked her to her room to ...

Vaporizers, Pre-London Panic, and Stratford!

... a honey-glazed croissant. Then Tom and Emma both spilled their drinks on themselves, so that literally put a slight damper on the evening and made us all erupt into uncontrollable giggles. We finally arrived at Leamington around 5:30, but the train to Stratford didn't depart until 6:15, so we found a pub across the street called The Under Graduate and we popped in there for drinks while we waited. The bathrooms there were really weird. ...
