After our welcome caipirinhas the place looked even more beautiful as we basked in the sunshine on the big, white outdoor couches. Happy days.

After a dip in the pool and a hot tub bubble bath we ventured out to explore the local area for dinner. We were aware we were on the quiet side of the peninsula but were not prepared for quite how quiet it would be with ...

... in styles and themes. Some we enjoyed much more than others. Our favourite was one based on a games theme and the parade was brilliant to watch because it had more floats than the other two (as opposed to crowds of dancers) and each section of the parade had an element of suprise (things turning into other things, people popping out of windows etc- and it was exciting!). We got there at 10.30pm and it had been boiling ...

... this had turned into a food and shopping extravaganza. We booked into the top French restaurant in town - on the 38th floor of the Le Meridien hotel overlooking the Copacobana beach. With 15 pound glasses of champagne it wasn't cheap...but what the hell...the trip had to end some time so it might as well end with a bang. Next stop...Sao Paolo...then Santiago...then Aukland...then Sydney...then finally back to ...
