... carbs came with salad too tonight so we were very happy. In true Kate-and-Craig-on-summer-holiday-style we were back and in bed by about 9.30pm for some quality kindle time.

    Day 5 -
On Monday it was a good job our hotel room was so nice as the weather broke and we spent a fair bit of time in it. As we headed out to the supermarket to buy water and fruit in the morning we were aware it was cooler and cloudy, but did not quite expect to get caught in rain showers. Add to ...

I have a list of activities for Copacabana so I decide to experience a different side of Carnaval. Ipanema has a bloco early. Fun but packed. The streets along the ocean have been shut down and totally full. After the bloco, there are a few bands. Seeking ...

A travel blog entry by athena on Nov 14, 2006

I've been counting down to this day. Well, maybe not so much since the end of September (lol) since my mind/life has been somewhat turbulent...The fact stands, the passing of today signals the completion of a year in Brazil. Time is such a strange thing. I feel like there is no way a whole year has gone by already, while at the same time I feel like I have been here longer. Let's review: - Met tons of family I never knew I had - Nearly got ...
