... embroidered, the Battle of Hastings in October, 1066. It is 70 meters long or almost 240 feet by about 3 feet high. Amazing!! After that, we returned to our room to rest for a while as restaurants don't open until 7:00. Dinner was lovely at L'Aissette du Normand, as recommended by Jean-Pierre's (our B&B host) and we got to bed by about 11. Dinner in Europe is truly your evening's entertainment. ... was interesting, and then went through again on our own so we could take it all in. The detail is wonderful, and is quite graphic. The final battle scenes show hacked limbs and decapitated bodies. After this, we popped into the cathedral. Again, it was dead quiet and we had a good explore.
