After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!
Menton, Provence, France darrenhough74... and not campervan parking friendly. We found a picture perfect stop just after Monte Carlo at the top of a hill overlooking the Med. We had the place to ourselves so we russelled up some brekkie in the sun which was lovely, so much so we were in t-shirts!!!
Monte-Carlo, Monaco darrenhough74... seen and spoken to, to date.
Set off mid morning to drive through Gorges du Verdon, again another stunning drive. This time though the weather was kind to us and we were able to get out for a hike after lunch. It seemed like a popular drive as we encountered several other tourists, one couple were eating lunch at the same spot we were. They packed up their picnic, took a swig out of ...
Grasse, Provence, France darrenhough74... Sailboats were docked at the marina (knez, it made me think of you). Diane ordered mussles and Jon and I had our first mussels ever. They were delicious. Thank you Diane for helping me discover my love for sea food. St-Tropez was further than we thought, but thank god we ...
Cannes, Provence, France sofenjon... menu. Lambrusca. If you haven't had it before, its a wonderful young sparkling red wine. Nice, Provence, France sofenjon... br>
Today's Royal itinerary takes us on a tour of Monaco, including old Monaco and the Royal Palace. It's uncertain whether the schedules of Prince Albert or Princess Caroline will allow for a meeting with Princess Lesia but our respective public relations staff are working on it!

The tour of Monaco-Ville, also known as Old Monaco included a walk through the narrow streets that once ...
Monte-Carlo, Monaco ricknelsie... a treat after two nights in the Bongo - it's not uncomfortable in the van, but the tent was that bit cooler and (luxury!) it lets you stand up straight! Paul had forgotten this bonus and for a while persisted quite comically in a an attempt to get dressed while bent double...

Once again we work early and were able to breakfast well before issuing forth to spend the day in Cagnes-sur-Mer. As we set off, wtrapped into our hiking boots and ...
Cagnes-sur-Mer, Provence, France saracengill... I were up to say good bye at 6:30, then I went back to sleep - John spent most of the am working. When I woke up I did laundry, fed the girls, cleaned the kitchen and packed our bags - then John took the girls to Nice, to buy a belt and ride the carousel. They were supposed to be back by now, oh well. I have caught up on my scrabble games, written some emails and am waiting to put the clothes into the dryer. I miss Riley; I ...
Cagnes-sur-Mer, Provence, France kwt1981Ah the French Rivera. Weather is staying good for us and we are now very close to the beach. The beaches here have boulders/ big pebbles instead of sand which is quite different for us. Had a very nice dinner tonight, quiche and a chicken 1/4. Tomorrow we have a free day to go to the beach and shopping then off to Monaco for dinner. A place for the very rich to go.
Nice, France rikih26.7.06 Monte Carlo Monaco We made a flying visit to see the coast of Monaco and feel the ambiance of Prince Albert's principality. It's very beautiful, but there were many cranes on the horizon so it looks like a city under construction. This is where the rich people of Europe hang out. There were many expensive cars and boats. We had a beer in Monte Carlo Bay, bought a few post cards and a sticker and went on again ...
