          We left the tree houses at 10:30 in 48 degree rainy weather. It rained all the way to Shady Grove, Oregon were I had to pull over and put on another layer of rain pants. I was soaked through my jeans and insulated rain pants. The additional rain pants helped but I was still wet. Back on the road and still raining. We decided that Crater Lake was out of the question.           Day 1 - Thursday 10th September

          Dale shot off to work this morning and left us to finish our packing and all our faffing about on the internet and we set off about 11:30.

          ... picks and collect their thunder eggs and have them cut back at the shop. It was a blast. I went to two beds and searches for a couple hours in the morning and got a few of my rocks cut. When I realized how baller they were, I got a few more done. Afterwards I headed towards bend with a stop at smith rock state park and hiked misery ridge. It made me miss the cool shady trails of the olympic peninsula for sure but I made the four mile trek up 1000 ft in 1 mile like a pro. ...
