Well we had an amazing encounter early this evening with the young Czech man who we encountered several times in Le Puy the day before we left. He was so excited to see us as we were to see him. He never thought he would see us again and we never thought he would make it this far. Nor did he. Another great day of hiking and solitude. We had a good sleep because the church bells stopped ringing at midnight and started at 7am. For some strange reason they ring twice on the hour. Today, despite the forecast, there was no rain and good cloud cover so we didn't get too hot in the openness of the plateau. ... places are closed on Mondays including the shops in our town so we can't stock up on supplies tonight. Lots of downhill today and towards the end of the day I developed shin splints and am in a fair degree of pain. Uphill is easier so I am hoping for lots of uphill tomorrow.
