    Caught a taxi from Saint Come to Estaing it would have been 15.5 walk, quite manageable however Jane is still unwell and Helen seems to have caught the bad cough as well. We had made a booking in a nice hotel and so on arrival we were able to explore the town. Quite magnificent really. It is dominated by an ancient chateaux owned by Valerie Giscard ...

    Today we awoke to yet again a little more rain...unfortunately jane is still not at all well and we had to take her on to a town espaniole for a chest X-ray for the kind doctor to review and decide what further treatment might be required.. All sorted..     ... basic French gite. Madam made a very lovely dinner of garden potage, garden salad, zucchini stuffed with meats, cheese plate and finally creamed rice with berries and some sort of alcohol ..... Stuffed, this time with food we staggered to bed, and as usual in a state of hysterics because Helen made us all giggle like school children and we are now all over sixty....when will we ever grow ...

    ... bar was a tattooed version of our friend Louis jones...fresh from London, (thirty years ago) and interpreted for me with the barman whose bar, was I fact part of the same family chain of hotels and after some toing and froing put all four of us in his car and drove us up the hill to our hotel...thank goodness because non of us could walk.....
