... facilities such as ensuite bathroom, multi channel TV, radio, DVD and CD player, direct dial telephone, modem access and other services coupled with the best of hospitality. The food served in breakfast was of very good quality and was very yummy.
We planned to go for a tour of the city and visited the Connor Pass which took about 1 ...
Well this morning we woke to heavy heads and grey skies. A quick brekkie and we were off on the bus once more. We drove along the Dingle peninsula for a while, which some breathtaking cliffs and scenery. At one stage we got off the bus to take some photos, and Mike closed the doors and drove a little way down the road - enforcing some fresh air and exercise! We also got the opportuinity to climb a rather large hill, covered in sheep ...
Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland bronandjosh09... and rivers - true postcard stuff. The weather again has been smiling on us and we enjoyed blue skies all day.
Michael our tour guide has continued to be a wealth of knowledge - in addition to the fairy stories, he's also told us legend of the white horses of Ireland and filled us in on the Potato Famine, which went for about 5 years and killed up to half of the Irish population - through disease, starvation or dying on the ...
... to see how we react to situations. and if any of you know how many bathroom breaks Nic and I take on roadtrips, you'll know when I say that I have seen more bathrooms in this country than Irish pubs. And they are all grosssss gas station bathrooms...giving us all great thigh workouts!! And it is sooooo hard to find a good cup of coffee here. Honestly, its all instant coffee and super strong. There isnt Time Hortons or Starbucks on every corner.
Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland nic_dani_geersDrove the Ring of Kerry today and it was beautiful. We did drive counterclockwise which is the recommended direction in order to minimize traffic concerns, especially since the road is so, so narrow!
About 30 minutes into the trip we saw some locals with donkeys on the side of the road selling trinkets. We decided to stop and take a look because there was also a tourist bus there too, besides it was a nice place to get some ...
Today we were driving from Kinsale to Killarney, and had several stops planned along the way. The first stop was the Dromberg Stone Circle. This place is a mini Stone Henge. It was a ways off the beaten path and we were back on the cow paths to get there. We traveled past a cute little town right on the water and then into the countryside. We then had to go down a narrow, one-car, gravel road to reach the Stone circle. The place was ...
Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland christine.roney... I could have sworn we were heading south east. Heading east, I thought it was north, or was it south? We were glad we saw as many different parts of the country as we did. Some of it we really liked, some we'd never bother to go back to. The favorite areas are Dingle peninsula, with the town of Dingle being my favorite, and north County Clare - Ballyvaughan. Next time we would take more time and visit fewer areas, staying put in one area for longer, to let us explore more thoroughly and allowing us to experience a deeper glimpse into the local way of life.
Ireland, Ireland markus92Saw a famous windmill from the road, stopped and got coffee and petrol. Tiny cars don't require much filling up! Send a Toyota Yaris when we return, becuase the US doesn't sell the Nissan Micra we're so happy in now. Petrol did cost €35.50, and with the value of the dollar right now... ouch! But really, we should only have to fill the tank once more at most!
Tralee, Ireland thehills... shoes, since my heels just arent cutting it dancing all the time. So later on last night..we went to horans night club. we were warned not to go there in the first place, but u know when u tell idiots not to go somewhere, they go, so around 10pm we went to this one bar to see Danny the singing chef play like we did on wednesday night, just cuz hes really good and he plays american music. As we were sitting there this old man starts ...
Tralee, ireland, Ireland nicolinabaybay... we were in the town of Kilrush, and given the day was drawing to a close, we decided not to drive any further but rather try for a B&B here. Pulling outside a stately two storey house I think we all thought it looked too posh for us. Inside was no different, with the living rooms and bedrooms packed with period furniture that made it look more like a museum-piece than a functioning family home. With our last two B&Bs ...
