Just when we thought Venice was the most beautiful place we would visit in Italy, Varenna may have beaten it into second place. Neither of us can get our heads round the fact that we are actually seeing what's around us. The apartment is amazing and the views from the balcony alone are worth the trip. Claire has also befriended a blind cat so we keep having to think of excuses to go and see the lady so Claire can rub the cat.

These gardens were lovely too with more great views over the lake. The next village further along looked ...

... When Karen realised where we were there was a mad panic to get three large suitcases and overnight bag and a backpack as well as ourselves off the train before it started heading for it’s next destination. As the train disappeared out of view we just stood there, took a deep breath and wondered where to go.

It wasn’t long before we found our way to where the bus would leave to take us to Bellagio. A mere 20 minutes to wait – ...
