We made a good effort to get up a bit earlier than usual this morning as the nearby town of Gaillac has a market in each Friday. Early for us mind you was 8:30am... The market was good for a small town. Consisting of fruit, veg, meats (fresh and cured), cakes/breads as well as a variety of ornaments, clothing and even mattresses and doonas! We bought a beautiful salad bowl and cheese board made from 200yr old olive wood. The grain and colour is incredible. The kids ...

Yay the sun is out!! Finally we have clear skies and no rain. As much as I love the rain, after having it for about 4 days now it was nice to have a break. We took advantage of it and explored the surrounds. First we popped into our local town of Castelnau de Mondrian which is perched on a hill with tight windy single lanes between high walled buildings. After rising this morning about 8am we proceeded to pack up our things and clean the apartment. We had a 12:30pm train to catch and had to leave by about 11am to get to the main line station for the TGV. ... multiple jet fighters (Jaguars, Migs, Mirage and Straighter to name a few), an Airbus A300B, and the Airbus Super Gupy heavy cargo plane which is wider than it is long. Not only are there aircraft to view but a number of interactive exhibitions such as flight simulators, design your own aircraft, and movies.

... on our way to dinner in Albi we went through a cathedral which dates from the 8th century. We had dinner in a courtyard where the cobble stones may have been laid by the Romans. After dinner we went to look at the huge Albi cathedral, which looks very much like a fortress. We did not get a chance to see inside, but I was surprised that very few of us had ever heard of it.
