Toulouse, La Ville Rose

First I have to say that I travelled first class from
Barcelona to Toulouse. It was pretty cool, nice big leather chairs, radio and
then later they played a movie. Gemma, Hector and I got there fairly late,
between 9:30 and 10:00. Dana and her friend Theresa (who is also doing this
program) met us at the train station and we found a bite to eat. We “got to”
watch T.V. that night for a bit and get a taste of what French television is

NORWAY: Nothing to do...Why not travel?

... some quality was sacrificed. I spent the rest of the afternoon coordinating trip details with Hannah, talking with my mom, and watching Netflix. I wanted to venture out and experience Toulouse, but Jordi was too tired and me navigating such a big city on my own is dangerous. Plus, why start out the trip with extra strain on my budget. I got to my hotel and it's clean and comfortable, with a lovely firm bed, but I still ...

... melted goat's cheese, with salad, then I had a main of duck with vegetables, and for dessert creme caramel. The next day we picked up the car and travelled towards the Pyrenees, choosing the small highways then small winding roads through the mountains, past empty ski fields with their chair lifts crisscrossing the road and disappearing up the mountain slopes. We passed through lots of tiny villages which had most of their accomodation and restaurants closed for the off season. ...

Canal du Midi

... We had to eventually "cut them loose," so to speak, and we hoped they would fare okay. On the final day, we docked next to each other and learned the sad truth - although they managed the boat and the lock tasks better with time, Oliver fell into the canal (one of my fears!) and he cut his arm pretty badly on the boat. They were good sports about the whole experience, but I wouldn't expect them to ...
