... of Varna with my new Irish friends. The stories will be pretty amazing. I can already feel it.

Lastly - on a side note, there is another pure distinction that I am not in the United States. . Like coca cola machines, there are instant cappuccino/ espresso machines that give you a cup of coffee for about 30 cents. In the finest restaurants in all of America, I have never had a better espresso!

Viva Europa!

Sunny Beach, Burgas, Bulgaria marionovisad... Palace. Nessebar as well as being picturesque is Souvenir Central with a variety of shops and cafes lining the pretty streets. It is located on a small rocky isthmus in the Black Sea , is a UNESCO World Heritage site and dates back to 3000 BC. We love it here and spent the afternoon wandering about enjoying the town. Later we had dinner on our balcony, accompanied by Bulgarian Beer and Bulgarian Wine, and then went for a walk along the waterside in the cool of the evening.
Nessebar, Burgas, Bulgaria souter... came into view; not a huge hill like those standing in a line behind me but a gradual hill several kilometres long. So mindfull of the heat I stopped in the shade before it and had a good drink. And stopped at various points up it too. It also helped that there was lots of time. Finally over the top and a long coast into Yambol. The main road actually skirts it but i headed into the centre and was immediately relieved to see a couple of different ...
Burgas, Bulgaria i_could_walk... and wooden cabin style buildings. Of the major attractions are the ruins of the Old Bishopric which is also known as the Church of St Sophia. It was extremly busy at this site with lots of tourists taking photographs and small gypsy children trying to pickpocket unsuspecting tourists or trying out some scams. Walking around the town you seem to get higher and higher and can get some great views of the ...
Nessebar, Burgas, Bulgaria gfleming... in Valiko Taverno. Just after we had finished out meal the band came out and started playing up in the other section and not long after the dancers came out. We thought 'we have to be a part of this' so we told our waiter we were moving and just did as we pleased again. The dancing was amazing and plenty of crown participation including old twinkle toes Hendrick. We ordered another bottle of wine to settle in for the evening but the dancing and ...
Sozopol, Bulgaria leahandgregBurgas was hosting the first ever MTV Spirit of Burgas festival with Groove Armada, Koseen, Ministry of Sound etc. It was situated on the beach, had an electric atmosphere, great music and was bouncing! All for £20 as well. If you happen to see the festival on MTV you will probably see me & G. Aside from the festival there is nothing happening in Burgas.
Burgas, Burgas, Bulgaria stevewadeSunny Beach is a holiday resort on the coast of Bulgaria. It's basically sunbathe all day and booze all night. Lots of British, Sweedish, Norwegian, Dutch and German tourists. Not the nicest place in the world but good for a chill out and a few nights on the lash.
Sunny Beach, Bulgaria stevewade... no further, road head "gone". Of course I ignored them all. So, lo and behold the road got narrower and narrower, with more trees growing in the tarmac until, sob, it simply disappeared. Some friendly guys grazing their pigs directed me to a dirt track that really was off road. cobbles, rocks and mud. A medieval farm forsest track. uphill. I put on my helmet and was very glad I was on my mountain (as opposed to roadie) bike ...
Burgas, Burgas, Bulgaria springy100... You certainly could tell you were in a completely different place when the restuarants were all offering full English breakfasts and Yorkshire Puddings next to the traditional Bulgarian fare. So this is my last day in East Europe, a trip thats lasted a month or so. Has been heaps of fun, pretty frustrating in parts, especially Bulgaria and Serbia with their incomprehensible Cyrrilic alphabet. The defenite highlight was the Dalmatian coast, but after that Bulgaria has been ...
