... had 2 hours until we reached Sao Paulo.

When we reached Sao Paulo I turned on my phone and it found a local carrier. It worked!! wheeeeeeeee!!

I progress thru customs and made my way along the glass covered corridor. I saw my first palm tree close up and smiled. I was in frigging Brazil!! I texted Rafa and let her know I had landed and was safe.
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil guiser... shocking to see scenes of the man himself at the end of that biopic and have him not look like Downey. He is constantly struggling between his journalistic curiosity, his genuine desire to help this man, and his fear of intimacy, both with his family, represented by his ex-wife and boss Catherine Keener, and with Ayers, who becomes increasingly and almost frighteningly dependent on him. You can see every inch of his discomfort and frustration towards Ayers, the ...
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil suzloua... to hostel where only food option was BAD Chinese takeaway. Generally, going out on streets of central SP at night is not recommended so happy to let man bring it to us.

And tomorrow we fly. Don't really think we'll bother using our spare hour to walk in SP- it just seems grim, threatening and uninspiring.

* The photos on this page do NOT show Sao Paulo. It just seems a reasonable chance to put up some more Ilha Grande shots *
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil sharor... is much worse. We put all our effort on doing the itineraries the Lonely recomends but all that water and the ugliness of the city made us end up in a cibercafe just wating for the bus to Iguazu. While I was surfing I found the guy I new in Sao Paulo online. He said he was not in town cause he went somewhere ...
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil captainflint... I can pursue the contacts I've made, start going to Portuguese classes and maybe even teach languages myself. Luckily, everyone I've met is really hospitable, open-minded and welcoming towards foreigners and I can now manage a basic conversation in Portuguese, with a certain deal of brain effort and imagination in corrupting the language. :-) Next stop is Rio, the marvellous city, for Xmas and New Year celebrations and Belem in the northern Amazonia after that.
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil crismarpe... I'd spent more than a night here though as an Argentinian girl told me about a boat cruise that she went on around 5 of the surrounding islands and it sounded great. But we stayed just the one night as we had to catch a bus and ferry to our next destination, Ilha Grande. While waiting for the bus I noticed my 3rd incident in Brazil of breast feeding in public, obviously the done thing here, but more spectacularly this ...
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil iceice17... headphones. Fall asleep somewhere over Georgia, wake up on the descent into SP. Spent the day at my friend's house, it took us three and a half hours to drive the 20km from the airport to her apartment. Friggin Sao Paulo traffic is horrendous.
Sao Paulo, Brazil agaiziunas... tears, complaints or fears, but in apparitions and blurs and sweat. Drip drip goes my energy, drip goes my concentration, drip go the words, and feelings and forethought. Pooled at the drain are these thoughts, imaginings, the reality, too, that this parallel world is where I want to be, a drunkenness of sorts that allows the world to [form?] in a puddle, incoherent and mixed to others, I imagine, but perfectly clear to me. Drip drip not fast enough, guilt for ...
Sao Paulo, Brazil murdock... I watched idly, horrified, as the black cat not only crossed our paths but performed complete, tight circles around both of our sets of legs. No change in fortunes could've been more drastic. We'd just received the kiss of the devil. I couldn't believe it. Georgia was somehow oblivious to the symbolism. "Oh, um gato," she said and picked up the cat to pet it. What an idiot? I thought. How could you have missed that!? No. Of course I didn't think that back then ...
