... bus (except for those stupid turnstiles.) You see, all the driver does is drive. Behind him are two sets of seats, then on the right is a lady sitting sidways who collects the money and lets you pass through the turnstile. The passage is narrow and the railings are high. We have to take of all our baggage and pass it over by hand and make our way to seats near the exit door all the way in the back. A real pain in the neck in 90´ weather! We were on our way ...
Foz de Iguazu, Brazil rbartorillo... campsite known as the Swiss Chalet which was very basic to say the least but it did have a very cute little dog :) Sunday was he first day we had some showers and AI have to say the break in the heat was welcomed by all! On Monday we arrived here in Foz, a smallish City right beside the Iguaçu falls. The campsite here is also quite nice, although not hot water but there is a swimming pool! An immense BBQ was had by all on ...
Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil juliannet... we took a 10 minute helicopter ride over the falls which was fantastic, it was only then I really appreciated how many falls make up Iguassu. Unfortunately the helicopter couldn't fly directly over the falls as they are in Argentina but we did have a great view of them, especially the Garganta del Diablo, which had a huge rainbow stretched across it. As soon as we went into the national park a coati ...
Foz de Iguazu, Brazil smee_elaine... kaz nearly got swept away by the current and decided to nut the boat!!! the tropical water was warmer than we were at the time so the whole experience was a LOT of fun! After a long hard day we headed back to our hostel to unwind with a few games of pool and a self service bar!!!! A recommended hostel to anyone going to Brazil, we saw hummingbirds, frogs and could hear all the sounds of the jungle. The place was lovely with great staff. Chris & Kaz x
Iguaçu, Brazil marshall... and like Oz they often like to stick together in various degrees. Despite their Japanese heritage, they felt it was pretty stupid that so many Japanese would come to Brazil and refuse to integrate into society (which I have to agree with) - although their parents seemed fairly cool, one girl had a good friend who had to move to the other side of Brazil coz her family wouldnt let her go out with a Brazilian guy she liked. Anywayz, I ...
Foz de Iguazu, Brazil joulesHello All, Just arrived back from Iguazu yesterday. The falls were the most amazing thing I have ever seen and I have taken about 100 photos. I will upload some soon. I am back in Buenos Aires, but flying to Chile today. Take Care Claire P.S. don't forget to send your full addresses for postcards.
Iguazu, Argentina thedoc... great, and the views of the falls were incredible. Some people wanted to know if it was anything like Niagara Falls, but nothing could compare. These falls just kept on going and going and going. There wasn't just one, but it seemed like there were millions. My host family kept on saying to me before I left, 'No hay lluvia y no hay agua allí' but... it was still incredible. After a long day of hiking and two border crossings [our hotel ...
Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil agresa... and smoked a cuban between the 4 of us. Yesterday, we got up kind of early, took care of some errands (calling the airlines from a payphone took FOREVER!!!) and hit the beach. Nate and Matt rented a surfboard and a bodyboard for us to try...turns out, the best break was ************ to paddle!!! We found a way out, and the guys tooka couple waves. Then, I wanted a try. I dont know what got into me, but some stroke of bravery. I decided to try to enter ...
Saquarema, Brazil thedaysthe start of a 14hr trip on a bus which turned out to take 20hrs including a 2 and a half hour wait at a bus station in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere. buses were actually pretty plush but unfortunately we got stuck by the toilets and the smell was unreal!!!! also it was harder and harder to spot our 2 bus connections as the night wore on ...
Cascavel, dourados and bonito, Brazil seanandfaye... wowed" yesterday and rightly so. This side surely gave us fantastic views of the falls on the Argentinean side, but the park in Argentina was so lush and really gave us the feel of a national park. Again, we left with an enormous amount of pictures and memories to last for a lifetime. Border crossing on the way back was much simpler. The total time to go through both immigration checks was less than fifteen minutes. When crossing between ...
