We secured tickets to the final on the morning of the match through a friend we met in our first week in Rio, so it was a massive suprise. We got to the famous Maracana stadium early in time for the closing ceremony which featured Shakira, Santana and Wyclif!! Very impressive, and great to see something being done for Brazilians as most of the people at the party were locals - seeing them play makes you realise just how engrained football is in Brazilian culture, and why they are so good. We enjoyed some canapés and strawberry mojitos before dancing along to the Brazilian superstar MC Marcinho and meeting Liverpool legend Coutinho. What a week! More coming soon.... ...
