I'm kcab. It's 10 to 5 Melbourne time, heaven knows what time locally, almost half past 10 Dubai time and it's just gone half time for the flight. That means 2 meals, 3 movies and one numb bum. The romance of travel is diminished somewhat when you miss out on the window seat and to make it worse the girl who got it has slept the whole time. Then add in the little knocks and bumps from cabin crew who seem to regard me as the invisible man and it becomes pretty obvious that ...

Jakarta - a long entry for 5 days

... had absolutely no cash left. We wanted to rent a motorbike to visit the nearby beaches, but we had no cash. I decided to change some dollars into the local currency, and thankfully we found a money changer nearby. After we had some money, we rented a motor bike. She had driven a motor bike twice before, and crashed it twice before. So, I was the driver for sure. She seemed a little bit uncomfortable just sitting in the backseat. Just a drink for us then, dear Sir! As it was a Monday, the museums surrounding Kota's old square were shut (only open Tuesday-Friday... we were having no luck!)... most of them hadn't been recommended to us as being particularly worthwhile anyway. So... if you ever dare to set foot ...

Bye bye Indonesia/Stuck in Malaysia

A travel blog entry by niomioconnor on Jun 16, 2014

... could damn right see I was alone and crying my eyes out. It was definitely the all time low point of the trip so far. I booked another flight for the next morning which cost about 23 pounds and then booked myself into the airport hotel which was a short walk away. Kuala Lumpur city centre is too far away and not worth it for one night on my own, especially as I've been recommended not to travel in Malaysia as a girl alone. The hotel only had rooms with double beds so I had to ...
