... tackling a steep hill! After checking into our two bed dorm (cheaper than going for a double room), we found out what was the new equilavent to Coles, which was Countdown and headed down to get some food for our two night stay. We decided to mix it up abit and brought some rice and mince. We needed some meat after having so much tuna and vegetarian options.

We took it easy for the rest of the night, after a few early starts we treated ourselves to a sleep in and naturally waking ...

Today is day 55 of my journey marking the end of the first quarter of my trip around the world. Cannot believe a quarter has passed already!

We headed over to Stone store, though we were at the wrong place and turned around, it started tipping it down. Drove a different way and found it was a dead, where it wasn’t raining, so we turned around and went back to the place we were at before, the right place. It had stopped raining there, which was weird. Parked the car and had a walk over to see the oldest building in New Zealand! Was cool to see, we didn’t do too ...

After this we went in to a Lappa where they put on a show for us, showing us all their weapons, the Haka and explained the face painting to us, which is the bat, parrot, owl and kiwi bird design, was very interesting. We then went back in to have our hangi meal. Soo much food, but was very delicious, b had a saffa meal with meat and starch!
