... small cube built at the end of the Sandtorhafen, with cool speakers playing pre-recorded symphonies and photos inside documenting the current development. I'd be surprised if the residents of the city still have any hope of it opening after 7 years of bad news.

The Landungsbrücken (Landing Bridges) is a floating dock connected with a series of bridges. It is quite big and has plenty of cafes, boat tour operators and general riffraff. So after walking along for a while we stopped for breakfast and a foamy cappuccino. Not great, but enough to quell the hunger pains.

... 110kms up the Elbe River from the North Sea.

We walked into town along the Spitalerstraße Mall and had a look in at a few shops. After lunch we noticed the large Stadtfest happening all around the Binnenalster and went to take a quick look. Right next to the Binnenalster is the Rathaus (town hall), which is absolutely huge and really reminds me of the one in Brussels.

No wanting to stray too far from the train station we looped down to the Zollkanal ...

... chocolate in my bag, once they checked it I was all ok to proceed. So I quickly walked through to my gate, boarded the plane and still felt so sad about leaving! But luckily there was still a que to board the plane so I wasn't as late as I thought I'd be! I then read a letter Lena had given me, upon leaving and cried again so much! ... all a beanie that says NZ and they were very greatful. I then had to pack everything! Lena helped me, but man do I have too much stuff! We packed everything and were finally done at about 11.30pm! Still with my backpack unpacked. But we headed to sleep as tomorrow is my last day and I must paint a block for lenas mum, as part of her project! Not that I'm a very good artist.. But it will be fun ...
