... I think it's KM's .... not miles) it was 16 KM's of the most spectacular coastline we have ever seen. As seems to be the recurring theme of this holiday ..... It has to be seen to be believed. Stopped in a little town along the way to visit the Emerald Grotto. We had to walk down a few steps then get in an elevator which went down about 100m's ( quite an engineering feat really as the elevator has been cut into solid rock ! ) and opened ...

Beautiful Capri

Our morning started with an early breakfast at our usual outdoor cafe. Being Sunday, and early, the streets were noticeably quiet except for church bells ringing at the many churches surrounding us. And also, except for the very loud Italian tourists that were heading down the almost 200 foot drop to sea level by way of the staircase just beside our table. To quote Rob, "...and the silence was broken when....". I couldn't make out what they were saying but by our standards ...

Italian Adventure

Day 2 of the Italian Adventure involved an organised boat cruise over to the Island of Capri. Due to the small amount of people we went to the small marina. From here we broke up into groups of 6 and jumped in taxis that took us all the way up to Anacapri. These taxis were convertibles so we had the most amazing view on the way up the mountain. Once there we look around the town of Anacapri and went up the chair ...

... we took a local bus to Anacapri, which is name of the other side of the island at a much higher elevation. It was very beautiful but again, a lot of stores and restaurants were closed due to the off season. It's kind of crazy that it was the "off season" because it was 70 degrees and sunny! We took a ferry back to the port of Naples (not any nicer than the area we stayed in the week before... Hopefully we won't have to go back there again) and a train to ...

Best Birthday E V E R

A travel blog entry by shaeshae88 on Aug 01, 2013

I woke up after next to no sleep to my official 34th birthday made sweet by the fact that I was going to the Blue Grotto and Capri. I wasn't hungover, or possibly I was still drunk, when I made it to breaky with only 15 minutes before we were scheduled to leave. Ryan sang me 'Happy Birthday' as I rocked up and scoffed down my breaky with Amanda. I still had a little bit of body paint on my arm and cheek, but it was my birthday so I could do what I wanted to do right?!
