After an excursion in Pfortzeim yesterday to do some shopping and to check out the bike path, we found our way back to the city. It had been totally flattened during the war and was rebuilt. Only a few old buildings remain on the outskirts. We started off heading along the wrong river so, when we discovered our mistake, we headed off on a road route given to Lilli by a man from whom she had ...

... some final shots. The drive today is only 186 km but we took a detour through Triberg so we could get one of our last German sausages. We went to the same shop that we did on last years trip. Russ is driving again as Steve has problems with his left knee. Russ's cold has also refreshed and he is not the best. Leave Triberg and get to our hotel just outside Baden Baden at around 4.30pm. A bit of a slow trip as the traffic on ...

On arrival at the station, it wasn't the marble of Monaco but clean enough and relatively quiet ...

... The views going up and down on the ski lift were lovely of the village areas. It was also possible to ride down the hill on little braked carts but we gave that a miss. We continued further up the road to a parking area hoping to find the Sankenbach waterfall. We commenced the walk along the forest track but were told that there was little water falling and as it was late in the day we decided not to walk the hour or so. The driver needs their wits about ...

    Strasbourg, France

... so French-y, and I liked looking at the pastries in particular. There's this part of the city that's called Petite-France, originally slaughter houses & tanning-houses. Hence the roofs were really big so as to increase the surface area to dry the skins. Walked around for a bit then had lunch by the canals which was pretty ...
