... and their son Thierry were waiting for us just outside, relieved that we had finally arrived after two days of delays. We talked and caught up on news as we walked to the car and they drove us the short way to the waterfront of Saint Denis where they had reserved a hotel room for us. It is a circular Island with a diameter of about 80 km with mountains rising almost straight out of the sea up to nearly 10000ft, higher than it is volcanic in origin and still has an active volcano which last erupted in 2012. Because the ship ...

Our last get up in LR :-(
We wake early so a bowl of tea is sipped back in bed, from where we can enjoy the view before getting up to finish packing and eat breakfast. A call from Elizabeth urges us to hurry as we are to meet Nathalie and family 'between St Pierre and St Joseph.' We manage to be ready before the girls arrive and meet them halfway down the hillside road. From there we follow to ...
