Reunion was a bit of a fizzer. There were some excursions organised by the ship but we chose not to take any of them - we would do our own thing. The day started in chaos as we had to get on a shuttle bus to take us the 300M through the port area thence change buses! There was no direction as to where the next bus was, when it was leaving, where it was going etc. Eventually and inevitably things got sorted out and we got into the town proper ...
... ride in as the countryside is just beautiful.
We met Bill (Rose's husband) and the four of us dined in the MDR for lunch, then headed upstairs to have a beer.
The rest of the day and evening was spent lounging around. We did catch up with Bill and Rose in the Avenue Saloon for a drink after dinner.
Tomorrow will be a sea day, good day to get caught up on odds and ends.

... a large hotel complex. Archbishop Macarios had a house while he was in exile on Mahe. As our driver had spent most of his life there and it is such a small place he seemed to know every second person we passed particularly near his village. The scenery on the west coast was magic with coral lagoons lined with palm trees and small villages backed by steep hills.
