We checked in quickly and began the two hour wait for our flight, in the overcrowded terminal. They've tried to make more space, which is desperately needed, by taking out more and more of the duty free shops. My old favorites are now gone; the remaining shops are small and lean. The flight left on time at 13:15 and was not completely full which was pleasant.

... a flat red lava gravel plain whose colours were surreal. It was a
short walk to the old crater rim where you could look out over the lava plain
to the cone of the current active volcano which is Piton De Fournaise. It was a
5 hour walk up to the edge of the current crater so we decided just to walk to
the edge of the drop down to the old crater. What an amazing unique experience!
After leaving the volcano we continued across the island centre to the west
... to the east coast where we had lunch at a Creole restaurant followed by another swim. Another great day. After another two fine and hot days at sea we arrived in Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. We had been to Mauritius for two weeks previously for Matt Smalls wedding so had seen most of the island but had not got to Port Louis then so we elected to spend the morning in the town walking then the afternoon back on board by the pool. ... bed/rocks. This is the bay where Mary and Michael stayed during their visit in 2012. It is great fun by the sea gap - and hard to hang on to the rocks as the waves push through.
