... guy (who lived on the island) who dropped me at the relocated embassy I did make it there. The island way often results in a few surprises and would you believe I had tea with the Cuban Consul while his wife prepared my visa!

The week flew by and before I knew it I was on the move again. St Lucia is a beautiful island full of fantastic things and people, shame all the tourists lock themselves away in the all inclusive resorts.

Martha’s is only 10 minutes drive from Soufriere at the base of the Pitons with glimpses of the Caribbean - quite a dramatic setting. It looks like (in fact I think it is) someone’s house with half a dozen tables on a concrete slab that may originally have been the car port, and a little bar at the back. I arrived at noon and the place was empty, but they were set up to receive a couple of busloads of tourists from the cruise ships so I arrived at ...

We told him we were good and gave him a few quid but he wanted more. He even expected us to buy something from the shop to get change. After a bit of a discussion, we told him he wasn’t getting any more and so he left. We then ...

This has been a very busy day and an early start on our way to Soufriere. This trip takes about 90 min. doing about 60 k an hour. There are so many twists and turns on a road you can just barely pass 2 cars. Very beautiful drive into the rainforest but the driver can't take his eyes off the road. Some of the turns are called hairpin turns which are exactly shaped like the top of a hairpin. Certainly not a ...
