... with the help of my Lonely Planet guide book, I've started a list of the places in Brugge I'm planning to visit today.

First up is a set of windmills on the edge of town. The route takes me through a quiet, less-touristed neighborhood, a welcome break from the busy Markt area where we've been spending most of our time. I pass a few backpackers coming from a youth hostel, and women pausing to chat with ...

The day started by simply getting the apartment cleaned up and loading up the van. ...

We got lost a few times in trying to get to some sights and were just a bit over what we had seen. Luckily upon arriving in Bruges (1hr train away) we were pleasantly surprised. A smaller town with much more. Great hotel 5 mins walk to the city centre, cobble stone streets, shops and lots of beer, chocolate and waffles. We jam packed ...

... to have a piece of cloth with the Blood of Jesus Christ on it. The Basilica itself was beautiful, but it was cool to see this relic and the altar that they had it on as well.

On the way to the city park, we walked down a "chocolate street," that had shop after shop full of Belgian chocolate. The best part is that most of them give out free samples, so if you walk in, and look around for a bit, you can pretty much get as ...
