Amiraalin väsähtäessä muu seurue jatkoi vielä rannalle tsekkaamaan meiningin, ja samanlaista kännistä toilailua se oli kuin Suomessa sillä erotuksella että täällä on lämmin. Näin ainakin perämiehen muistikuvien mukaan.


Eli ihan perus uusi vuosi sekin oli.

... Het was, zo zittend op de veranda van ons strandhutje met uitzicht op de turkooise golven en het spierwitte zandstrand, onvoorstelbaar dat het nog maar een paar dagen voor Kerst was. ... after we had finished eating two familiar faces walked past the bar. We called out to Madelein and Youp, who were on their way out for some drinks. We had a quick catch up and arranged to meet tomorrow evening for food. We spent the next hour or so drinking with Dean and Sonya. ... and catch up with emails etc, the bad weather actually didn’t bother us at all. In fact, we enjoyed cosying up outside our mushroom watching the rain lash down!

Sihanoukville and Koh Rong were the perfect places to unwind and recharge, and it really would be hard to imagine a more beautiful or friendly place - we’ve still got a few more islands to come on our travels but they’re gonna have to go some to beat this one…….
