    ... demonstration??? I was like a moth to flame! There were TV cameras and correspondents but we couldn't understand what they were saying. It looked like thy were following a politician who was very handsome but that's all I got from the crowd. The only thing we bought in Bari was rum gelato for 2 euros. It was amazing! Mike hasn't been feeling too good today (acid reflux we think) so there are no crazy shena****ns to report. Sorry! ...

    ... and very mellow ride through the Southern Italian countryside. Well chosen roads meant almost no traffic and we hit the halfway point of our first day's 70 km by a little after noon.  Spent an hour wandering around Gioia di Colle getting lunch organized which was a bit of a challenge on Sunday, then biked out to an archaeology site that had been inhabited since the 4th century BC where we settled in for lunch at the top of the hill ...

    ... to the car park and then had our bags carried up to our room. Had been upgraded to a suite so Charlotte had a room and her own bathroom and it had a wee balcony overlooking the pedestrian plaza.     ... an extremely successful travel agent, if ya know...people still actually used those. I used nearly every type of transportation this week and navigated my way with flying colors! We never missed a bus or a flight, and we may have messed up on the metro, but that was easily fixed. I was really proud of myself! I think that trip might be my last big, complicated excursion that I want to plan, but at least I know that I'm capable! And I'm not even broke yet!!
