... is a liquor ban in every store, restaurant and bar. Not such a big deal it seems, but we were so bored in Puerto Jimenez during this week, that all we wanted on Thursday afternoon was a cold beer!

Somehow we managed to find a guy selling some brewskies out of the back of his ride. He opened the door, and had a cooler filled with beer. We bought a six pack of 'Panama,' which turned out to be quite refreshing ...

... insects, and lizards were all part of the ever-changing landscape.

As usual, the birds were amazing! We saw white ibis, green kingfishers, breeding red-legged honeycreepers, chestnut-mandibled toucans, a red-lored parrot, a yellow caracara, parakeets, and a black hawk. On another day we heard and felt the deep purr of a breeding great curasow (aka the Costa Rican turkey) as it slept in a tree. And we saw hundreds of scarlet macaws. It is hard to believe ...
