... at the bus stop on the mainland the bus for David arrived, happy days! I had already seen how picturesque the journey over the mountains was on the way here, despite the cloudy conditions. On the return journey I was treated to the same views, this time in glorious sunshine! (excuse the poor quality photos taken from the moving bus!)

¡Hola todos! So, the video of our casa (house) that we're staying in didn't upload last time because it was too long. Fear not, we have taken a shorter one and are posting it right now. We were in luck because on our first day high tide was going to be at 5:30 a.m. According to Captain John you have about three hours before and 3 hours after posted high tide to be out on the water. Of course to be on the safe side we try to make it in a little before ...

... up on saving our boots and just wade down the middle of the thing, holding the bag up above our heads to try and keep the water out of the electronics! At some points there were sheer rocks on either side and the water was neck deep. It all felt very intrepid! There was less wildlife to see on the river, but we passed some guys panning for gold and, towards the end, a flock of White Ibises.

When we eventually got back to the lodge a crowd of Spanish people ...
