... prior to departure. At 7.45pm we were called for boarding and took a seat in this metal structure that was called a “plane” lol. the aristocracy lived in 'palais' homes like my hotel...the arches on street level were for the horses, then the family (one family per palais) lived on the 3rd and 4th floors, with the servants at the top where the small windows are...all the palais are still in old vienna ...

... dawned fine and we headed for Mount Untersberg with its cable car that takes you most of the way to the 1853m high peak. The view from the top was amazing, as it was so clear and we could se for miles all around us. There was a definite temperture drop at the top and the change in altitude definitely emphasised our current state of fitness.
