... next city was closed because of erosion. Bad idea, but great views for photographs. There were thorns everywhere, and loos rocks dangerous for climbing. We decided after 40 min of getting pricked and gritty to just hike back down. We arrived, and stepping out of the train station, you're immediately thrown into what Venice is all about: water. Down one big set of stairs, and then the Grand Canal is right at your feet. This writing is becoming quite habitual… hope you’re enjoying it! Today was a highlight for Sheree, so I will let her be profound. Florence is filled with culture, class, history - many of the roots of our Western society come from this city, once the capital of Italy.
