This port is all about the shopping and beach. We rented a scooter and rode up the coast about 10 miles to a perfect sandy beach. Laid out for about 2 hours then back on the road to check out a few non touristy towns. This is what I love to do but makes Jamie a little nervous. Found a sleepy little town with a restaurant and a church. A group of laughing older men kept us from sitting down so we walked around and checked out some old buildings. Hopped back on the ...

We saw where the Olympic flame is lit ...

... didn't look ancient. The brochure that came with the tickets said the site "flourished from the 10th. century BC ..." ie over 12,000 years ago, as a major religious, cultural and sporting site for the region. So it's certainly ancient and their sense of sport extended to human sacrifices in honour of the gods, according to the signage on one monument we passed. The site was largely rubble but still worth us seeing it and we could visualise what might ...

... day was partly cloudy and warm. Very warm in the sun. We had the usual slow start to the day. We both still felt full after last night dinner - it was our first transgression into serious recreational eating. Even Craig didn't have breakfast though he drank milk all day. It wasn't until 5pm when we had something light to eat - an ice cream. Craig went to the gym to do a weights workout about 11am and about midday he headed to the pool deck to sunbath and swim. ...
