Head still spinning from yesterday's adventures.....
Started the day in the serene classical music town of Ravello, within an hour was back 2000 years ago in BC Herculaneum and ended the day pizza eating in rubbish strewn Napoli. A bit concerned that I seemed to be happiest with the the pizza in Napoli and Brendan is still MIA in the bath houses of Herculaneum. Not sure what this says about our future.........
Naples is an intense, ...
... is strange. It doesn't have the elegance and historic grandeur of Rome or Florence, nor the quaint cosiness of the smaller towns. It's big, brash and (at first glance) ugly. The traffic is manic, the city has major problems with litter and graffiti, and most of the buildings seem to be under scaffolding. But.... This is important because some people don't have a brain in their head, and they repeat the answers of the person who went ...
To most people Naples isn't the best place to go because its so dirty and there isn't much to see and do, but I feel its what you make it. We actually really enjoyed ourselves, we had a nice time swimming and playing in the sea as well as looking round all the back street. But by far the best thing was the pizzas. They were just amazing. I loved sitting in bed with my girlfriend eating a pizza and watching TV. Was just so relaxing.
