... lanes around to find ever more wonderful views, interesting shops eg... guns and rifles in all their glory!! (yep - off the shelf), palace, church and a huge race track where they do trials (we could hear them in the background). It was like a rabbit warren in a way, but going up instead of down.
We went for an early morning walk to see the sunrise the next day. It was magnificent!

As I wrote in the title, I had ...
... as each seat filled the novelty soon wore off. It became cramped and uncomfortable... both physically and socially. As soon as we got to Austria however, the stunning views of the huge, steaming mountain forests, and ice blue rivers took our minds off the traveling conditions. On several occasions we couldn't help but gasp and 'wow' at the surroundings (which I felt quite guilty for doing because there was a blind woman in our carriage).
Nevertheless, it is an understatement to ...
We got to Rimini later that night after Pompeii. It was another 6 hour drive so again we were exhausted. We checked into the hotel and it was perfect. Nicer than the last one we were at. We had booked in advance for the night and the rate was 30eros cheaper than the next night so we (I) thought we would just get there and tell them we wanted another night at the same price. Unfortunately they played me harder than I played them and said they had no availability ...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy moore_mattjThe Italian language is both beautiful and humble:
- Companion comes from "con pan" meaning “with bread”. Tuscans consider their companions to be those they share their bread with therefore.
- Rosemary is “rosmarino” or “rose of the sea”.
... in my life on one beach. There was even a beach shower at the waters edge (advising us not to use shampo (their spelling not mine).
The water temp was cooler than in Sicily but still pleasant enough. by this time the sun had disappeared behind rain clouds. We headed back into town for coffee & shopping. Mandy found a ring but didn't buy it. I think she regretted it as for the next few days she wanted to head back to Fano.
Ciao
We left for Urbino after breakfast for a quick trip (Birth place of Raffaello - painter) of course coffee & gelati was part of our plans with some sights thrown in.
Nice place and worth the trip. No time to view the museo a bit of a shame as there is a section with Rafael.
We had some great views going over the mountains going to/from Urbino. Mandy is handling driving the larger car just fine.
Ciao
We arrived in Ca Le Soure for our one week yoga retreat. I wasn't looking forward to it with my hip and back issues. The place is on top of a hill surrounded by fields of wheat & grape vines and olive groves. We also found a forest of oaks where they harvest black truffles.
The accommodation is cottage style and comfy, a separate building for breakfast, lunch & dinner all vegetarian style food and very tasty - difficult not to go back for seconds as there is ...
... as the bikes were not fully restored and were housed in a 2 level building on what seemed to be this mans home land. The smell of oil covered the place and we saw some very old bikes including Guzzis. Wayne loved it as the bikes were in original conditions , cleaned but not restored. While we there someone turned up and the man turned him away saying the museum was closed and when he saw us the man said we had a special entry because we were from ...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy kasnsqueak... with the proprietor who had started out his hotel career at the tender age of 20 as a receptionist at Claridges to improve his English. We congratulated him on his #1 spot on Tripadvisor and he told us that he hadn't been able to have a proper night's sleep since it happened! He sounded almost apologetic because people expect so much of the hotel which is in actual fact nice, clean, but pretty ordinary to look at. It's ...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy jiewuPESARO Pesaro... this is a beautiful small city on the Adriatic coast of Italy. It has beautiful hills, views of the countryside and beaches. Pesaro is also the home of Steve's oldest male friend and Chiara's godfather Titti Carizzi. Titti has restored a 150 year old house that overlooks the Adriatic sea on the top of the precipice "La Valugulla". He invited us to come to his home for this week because he was running a yoga seminar at his ...
