This was a fascinating 'tour' where we saw great contrasts of the old and new. ... Aix- the very same old Aix-en-Provence first founded in 123 BC by the ancient Romans. UGH!!!
It is brand new- standing where the tourism office used to be. But I digress...
After our guests left Mary, Jan, myself, Cathleen, Courtney and Claire all went for a fabulous meal at Drole d'Endroit. We had so much fun, the food was superb, the staff friendly and the company divine!

Then we headed out to do some shopping on the Cours Mirabeaux where a nighttime craft market was going on. After some impulse purchases which can only be explained as a result of too much wine being consumed- see selfie of me and my new hat which is totally un-packable- we then headed to a local pub to soak in some nightlife before heading home.

Bill's tartare was a little less elegant than his previous one but still excellent quality beef and my Salade Cèsar was quite huge, with loads of chicken included with avocado, croutons, tomato, egg and Parmesan on mixed leaves. ... Hunter if she wanted to watch the new Transformers movie in French, but she didn't want to. So we went to the pay machines, and I was pleasantly surprised that it only cost 5 euros for parking.

We came back to the hotel, relaxed a little, and ended up taking a nap. The maid came by and knocked on the door. I didn't answer, and she went away. It seemed like they were cleaning the floors or something. Strange.
