Bonn City

Before I begin, some interesting facts about Germans I have learned:
1. Germans are absolute gluttons for fresh air. It could be zero degrees outside and they will declare that a room is stifling and insist on opening all the windows. Every day I go to school wrapped in shirts, sweaters, jackets, tights, pants, socks, leg warmers, gloves, scarves, and hats. ... Die Zinsen sind auf Rekordtief, der KZT notiert aber erstmal weiterhin bei circa 222 KZT je EUR. Es bleibt spannend. Spannend bleibt auch ob ich nächste Woche nach Usbekistan reisen darf. Nachdem ich drei Stunden vor der Botschaft gewartet habe und wieder ohne Visum gehen musste habe ich eigentlich keine Lust auf erneute Warterei.

Es ist seltsam, wie schnell die Zeit vergeht.. Wie oft habe ich euch versprochen zu schreiben, anzurufen oder einen blog zu verfassen. Ich denke oft an euch und es ist schön zu wissen, dass es euch genauso geht.

We had a long trip from Naples all the way up to the Black Forest in Germany so we split it up with a stop overnight in Florence. We love Florence so we were excited to go back again. We arrived in the afternoon so we did some quick shopping and bought a leather jacket each. Straight from finishing work with COLT, I went to V festival. The host spoke impeccable Ukrainian. The big question on the table was about corporal punishment. There were quickie street interviews. She did interview another very adroit woman who was some director of child services who again was intelligent and well-spoken. She spoke in Russian. So the questions ...

... there are depressing. They have this pretentious shyness but at the same time think that they are someone "better". They are really proud of their cars ("Porsche", "Daimler") and of their achievements. But they don't know how to live. I seriously doubt that anyone in Swabia is alive.
