... Folgen der Regenfälle. Die südlichen Regionen scheinen nicht so betroffen zu sein. Ich habe auch gelesen, dass gerade auch die vielen Einwanderer aus Europa (Deutschland, Italien) die z.B. in Blumenau und der Region um Joinville leben eine andere Art Landwirtschaft pflegen. Mehr Kleinbäuerliche Landwirtschaft und nicht die großen Plantagenwirtschaften mit Ihren ruinösen bodenauslaugenden Monokulturen.

... had. Tour buses can be good at times in taking you further than you can walk in a new city.

It was time for Peter to do what he does- climb a high tower. The tower of the Dom has 520 steps and I thought I would leave him to it! He did it and got some great views from the top. There were also little kids everywhere near the Dom dressed up as wise men, with crowns and cloaks. We think it was a sort of festival to celebrate ...

... which is new and has fantastic acoustics. It was Uri Caine and a group of musicians playing jazz referenced from Gershwin and Offenbach. Sounds unusual and it was, but it was brilliant. All the musicians and singers were talented and I have never seen a drummer play like he did tonight. Lovely to dress up a little and relax and enjoy. Found a great Chinese meal, which always works for us! Lovely new year's day and start to the ...

... noch ein Stockwerk tiefer, wo man 200m vom Dom weg ins unterirdische Köln abtauchen kann. Leider allein nur in einen Teil, denn Führungen sind immer nur sonntags. So ganz selbsterklärend, wie sie wohl sein sollten, schienen die Überreste der Gebäude nicht, denn man wusste eher nichts damit anzufangen. Zur Kenntnis genommen, Idee für gut befunden, aber....
Muss man sich wohl doch mal einen Sonntagvormittag frei nehmen!
