We leave Yosemite and hope we finally get to go down the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway). It's a couple of hours before we find Monterey then we see a sign for the 17 Mile Road that runs through Pebble Beach.

We get to the gate and see a $10 fee to drive through the beach, boo to that. At least we get a map of the places to see.

The first couple of stops are non events and we are wondering if we've been ripped off. Then we get to the beach section. ...

We drive down the East Bay and across to the town of Woodside. Some of you may know that Woodside is the home of Roberts market since 1889, or the home of 49er great, Joe Montana. ... couple of the holes. One of the marshalls even said that if we wanted we could rent a cart and drive the course but decided against it. We did hang out on the deck at the Lodge overlooking the 18th green and had a glass of wine (what a surprise) and snapped a few pictures.

We've decided to stay for a few days and tour the area since it is sooooooo beautiful. Tomorrow we will drive to the Big Sur area and just take it easy before we head towards Yosemite ...

... they grow all kinds of things teaching the kids about fresh vegetables, flowers, etc. and occasionally they have a Farmer's Market to sell their produce. It also teaches them about economics. Lilly's class had painted small pumpkins and were selling them, so of course we got one. Lilly even picked out a lavender one for Rock!   • Walked by Borg's Motel where Dick’s parents stayed when they came to visit my folks about 30 years ago. Beautiful view of the ocean from there.
  • Scenic and beautiful views. Even the municipal “don’t drain” signs are attractive, too!
  • Dick even took pictures on the PG municipal golf ...
