Most of the staff at our resort retreat back home to Nepal or north India. Other resorts and shops seem to employ staff from the same areas. ... carol singers made up of local children with santa hats on parading round the holiday makers huts. There were also lots of model nativity scenes dotted around the local houses. Its fair to say the main religion in Goa is Christianity so it was nice to see they werent just celebrating Christmas for the tourists.  On Christmas eve Dylans restaurant did a big spread for all their guests. Along with Parys and all her friends there were about 20 of us diving in to a big buffet of king ...

By the time we got to Palolem Beach, in the south of Goa, Dan was starting to feel better and to regain a small appetite. I, however, had acquired Dan's travel diarrhea on top of my original problem. I couldn’t eat. No sooner did I sit up than I wanted to lie down again. I spent a lot of time looking at the plywood walls of our cheap beach shack, but we found a restaurant nearby with bed-chairs where I only needed to sit up to sip some tea. My appetite had vanished and ...
