Boise is the state capital of Idaho and is a small modern city, with all the features of Americana ie busy Interstates, shopping plazas, fast food etc, and the landscape around boise is more like Arizona which is a complete contrast from the snow covered mountains further north. It is also much warmer - when we drove out for dinner the temp was 96F.
