    Before Razgrad I saw my first minarets of the trip and in the evening heard my first call the prayer, a pretty good sign that Turkey is near now.

    The bus ride to Shelby's town was full of anxiety..for both of us. I was thinking our towns might be similar so I was nervous to see what a typical, non-resort, Bulgarian town would be like. Her mentor and some of the male teachers from her school picked us up from the bus station and luckily they took all of our luggage to her apartment for us. So nice. Her apartment is very colorful.     We had missed the clocks changing but that was a bonus as it meant we beat the school trip to breakfast. Nutty waitress served us again, she continued to make strange noises as she repeated what we ordered in Bulgarian.
